Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between solid and sprung slats?
Solid slats are bars of spaced out timber that lie across the bed frame to support a mattress. On a double size, they tend to have one centre support leg too.
Sprung slats are similar in that they’re also made from timber, but slightly curved to offer more support. The slats are split down the middle so the left and righthand sides of the bed each have separate sets of slats. Sprung slats also have a metal frame and double bed sizes tend to have three centre support legs.
What is the size of the gap between slats?
The size of the gap between slats varies between bed frames. Most bed frames have an approximate 3.5-inch gap.
Does this bed frame have a maximum weight limit?
We currently don’t specify weight limits on our bed frames, however all are tested for the British Standard EN1725 on strength and stability.
